Counting back from the day you need someone shows how early the search has to begin, and it makes the cost of waiting another fortnight visible to everyone in the team. It depends on the role, your process and the candidate's notice period. Funded.club's searches take 33 days on average from kick-off to hire, with first screened candidates within 7 days, and the notice period comes on top of that. ### Why include a safety buffer? Your first-choice candidate may accept a counter-offer or another role. A buffer of one to two weeks keeps your start date realistic if you need to go to the second candidate. ### When should I start hiring for a role I need next quarter?
